I’ve been thinking more about composition lately, and especially trying to place my bird paintings into some sort of context. Orioles have been on my mind lately, inspired by a recent trip back east.

In the Hackberry

Maybe it’s the changing season here in the Bay Area. Saw this guy the other morning, and hoping to turn him into a painting before long!
South Street
By dianthus in drawings, TravelLately I’ve been trying to doing some more ‘on location’ sketching in an attempt to improve my drawing. This is along South Street in Philadelphia which funnily enough reminded me a bit of the Haight in San Francisco, with lots of bars, restaurants, and boutiques.
Something New
